The auto maker’s plans include new construction projects related to car manufacturers’ new models and new designs for road and motorcycle gearboxes. The new components already in production will feature “one or two” components or new engine parts, such as “electrical, thermal and thermal sensors,” with the ability to be installed in a more “standard” configuration.
As noted in this Friday’s edition of AutoWeek, the US auto makers’ plans to add more than 400 new engine parts are not included in the Auto Week database of auto engines, but some are, in fact, part of the overall plan to add several engines on current models and to create new models. “We wanted to give the auto makers a good idea of what they will need during the new models,” said Paul Dornburg, senior vice president of production manufacturing for the US carmakers.
